INSURANCE

At Big Rock Eye Care, we accept most Vision and Medical insurance plans. If you do not have insurance, or we do not accept your insurance, you are still welcome to pay out-of-pocket for your exam.

Please Contact Us if you have any questions or if you would like to confirm whether or not we accept your particular insurance.

The Difference Between Vision and Medical Insurance

Vision Insurance typically provides cost-saving benefits for routine vision exams, glasses, and contact lenses. This type of insurance does not typically provide coverage for medical eye exams or treatment for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye exams, dry eyes, etc.

Medical Insurance does not typically cover routine vision exams. On the other hand, it does typically cover testing, treatment, and procedures for medical eye conditions.  This includes coverage for medical eye exams for eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye exams, etc.

In general, Vision Insurance is designed to cover routine annual eye exams, while Medical Insurance is designed to cover medical eye exams. However, it’s important to note that the line between vision and medical insurance care can be blurry, and some insurance plans may cover some aspects of both types of care.

If you are not sure what type of insurance coverage you have or what it covers, it’s best to check with your insurance provider to learn more about what types of services are covered under your plan.
